Dear Business Owner,
The Tonganoxie Municipal Code requires a business license for all business that is conducted within the city limits of Tonganoxie. The cost to renew your business license each year is $50.00 for paper or mailed renewal applications or $45.00 if your renewal is submitted online via the City website webform and paid by credit card. Your license must be renewed by January 31, of the licensing year to avoid late fees.
Payment Options
· Pay by credit card, cash, check, or money order at City Hall, located at 526 E. 4th Street, Tonganoxie, KS 66086.
· Pay by credit card over the phone by calling 913-845-2620.
· Mail a check or money order to PO Box 326, Tonganoxie, KS 66086.
Fees will not be required for non-profit organizations who submit a copy of their current tax-exempt certificate with the business license application.
Important Information for Contractors, Roofers, and Daycare Providers
· Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing contractors must provide a copy of a current Johnson County Contractor’s License before the business license application will be approved. For those who are submitting electronically, you will have an opportunity to attach this documentation to your application.
· Roofing companies must provide a copy of their Kansas roofing license from the Attorney General’s office. Your will have the opportunity to attach this documentation to your application when submitting electronically.
· Daycare providers must provide a copy of their current state daycare license before the business license application will be approved. You will have the opportunity to attach this documentation to your application when submitting electronically.
